The Problem

Transitions into Adulthood

In a perfect world, when a teenager transitions out of high school and into adulthood, they would be excited and feel prepared to take on what the world has for them knowing the part they have to play. However, in most transitions into adulthood, this is not the case.

The reality is that 75 percent of young people between the ages of 12 and 25 lack a clear sense of purpose and feel unequipped to take on the responsibility of adulthood. Without a sense of purpose and overall readiness, many of our young people may follow the status quo and go to college when based on their abilities and passions, that may not be the best course of action.

The outcome

This is Leading to:

The way the current education system is set up, there are not enough opportunities for students to explore their passions and purpose while obtaining the knowledge and basic skill-sets needed to transition into adulthood successfully and sustainably.

Our Solution

A Mentorship Program

A mentorship program partnered with community organizations and businesses that enhances what is being taught in the schools and in the homes of our students.

Our goal is to prepare them for adulthood while assisting in the decision-making process for post-secondary school options, including entrepreneurship, vocational programs, two-year degree programs, and four-year degree programs.

Our program

The Lotus Project

As our students grow and develop spiritually, we will continue to teach, develop, and encourage each spiritual discipline and the gifts of the spirit with opportunities aligned with their unique experiences and understandings
Through the leveraging of community partners, we will educate both parents and youth on caring for the physical needs of their bodies. This would include advanced nutrition, cooking classes, basic medical care, wilderness survival, and the integration of different types of physical activity.
By partnering with local agencies, we will introduce our students and teach them to practice self-care, healthy boundaries, natural mood regulation, and how to find professional resources when they are needed.
We look at decisions each student needs to make as they transition to adults and equip them with the skills to move through successfully. This will include classes on how to buy a used car and basic car care maintenance and basic home maintenance.
Through the utilization of established financial planners within the local community, we will teach our students advanced budgeting skills and what it looks like to invest in their future.
